Salem Health: Women's Health Reviews
"This latest two-volume work in the Salem Health reference series serves as an index to women’s health issues from conception to end of life. Entries vary in length, each providing a basic overview of the issue at hand, definitions of key terms, causes, risk factors, treatment, and references for further information. Several comparable reference books and encyclopedias have appeared previously, such as American Medical Association Complete Guide to Women’s Health (1996) and Christine Ammer's New A to Z of Women’s Health (6th ed., 2009), but none so recently as this. As such, this work provides an updated reference text for users who are not health professionals. Coverage includes current topics such as LGBTQI health and the health of military servicewomen. This set would be an appropriate addition to consumer health collections at public libraries and would also see use by students in academic libraries. Summing Up: Recommended. Lower-division undergraduates. General readers."
