Formerly, most institutions were compelled to select either ebook, online database or printed versions of the reference they need. Choosing both print and electronic editions has been prohibitively expensive, in spite of the clear benefits of offering both to students and patrons. No longer. Salem Press has changed the way reference is delivered. Our Salem Health and Salem History programs provide both print and online access to full reference content for the price of print alone. The online database includes a number of up-to-the-minute features: Salem Health Salem Health is a new online resource that is free to libraries and schools purchasing the printed versions of Salem's healthcare reference. Each of the resources is directed toward patients, family and healthcare providers and comes from the award-winning team that publishes Magill's Medical Guide. Buyers may choose any or all of these reference works to build the print and online health library they desire. A REMARKABLE FUTURE Over the next three years Salem will expand on the Guide's content, adding specialty health-related reference to the growing Salem Health library. Purchasers of these reference titles will see their online resources grow accordingly. Scheduled for future release: For more information on Salem Health, click here. Salem History Salem History is a robust online database that includes the complete content of a growing number of our printed reference sets, free. Purchasing printed reference delivers online access at no additional cost. Salem currently offers this service with four historical reference sets: RETROACTIVE BENEFITS Many Salem customers already own reference sets from the Decades series and from Great Lives and Great Events series. Good news: those colleges, schools and public libraries that already own some or all of the previously published titles in each series automatically qualify to access the earlier works' content free, once the newest title is purchased. Plus, Salem is offering special, "collection development" discounts to those who wish to complete their collection of titles in any or all these series. Developed and improved continuously since 1949, the complete collection includes over 150 volumes of information, with a total list price of over $15,000. The online version of this resource, MagillOnLiterature Plus is available in a fully searchable database, for a fraction of that cost.
