![]() UTAH CONTENTS State & Federal Grants Regional Foundations Grant Information Centers STATE & FEDERAL GRANTS Several organizations distribute federal funds to U.S. libraries, including NEA (National Endowment for the Arts) and NEH (National Endowment for the Humanities), but IMLS (Institute of Museum and Library Services) is the largest. IMLS runs a grant program known as LSTA (Library Services and Technology Act), which supports the delivery of library services in the United States. LSTA distributes funds to State Library Administrative Agencies (SLAA), also known as "state libraries," who then use the funds to support a range of libraries in their state. More information on the availability of federal grants in Utah is available here. State grants in Utah include the following: Capital Facilities Grant The Board of the State Library accepts applications for capital facilities grant prioritization through June 1 of each year. All applications must be submitted electronically via the Department of Community and Culture (DCC) and its division web portals. Community Library Enhancement Fund (CLEF) All Utah public libraries that fulfill the requirements for State Library Certification are eligible for an annual CLEF Payment (formerly Public Library Development Grant). Funds may be used for the following three areas: collection development, community outreach, and technology that impacts the public. UPLIFT Training Grants These grants are available to formal library organizations for specialized library training. It allows organizations to upgrade the skills of library staff, trustees, and their supporters by addressing local needs.
