In the grand tradition of Carmen Sandiego (pioneering children's computer game), and the Travelocity Gnome, we bring you "Where in the World is Nancy Pearl."

This area of Coolness was inspired by Dr. Mary Ann Bell (Asst. Professor, Dept. of Library Science, Sam Houston State University). Mary contributed an email wherein she wrote, "My Nancy Pearl doll goes with me everywhere. She has been to London, New York, Washington DC, California, Oregon, Washington state, and all over Texas including a trip across the Rio Grande." Following these words she provided a link to her photos of Nancy's wanderings. Some of which appear below.

NANCY IN TEXAS
Nancy travelled in Texas and DC with Dr. Mary A. Bell, mentioned above as an early travelling companion of the famous action figure.

Nancy was proud to have her picture taken with "Big Sam," the 77 foot statue of Sam Houston located just south of Huntsville, Texas.

Nancy especially liked posing with the state flower of Texas, the bluebonnet. The blue flowers go so well with her suit!

Of course there is a lot of cactus in Texas, but Nancy was not afraid. Brave girl.

NANCY IN WASHINGTON, D.C.
Dr. Bell (not pictured) and Nancy, again.

This was her first chance to get to see the beautiful new National Museum of the American Indian at the Smithsonian.

Needless to say, visiting the Library of Congress was a trip highlight.

NANCY IN THE BIG APPLE.
Nancy in the City.

Nancy relished her view of the New York skyline from the top of the Metropolitan Museum of Art.

Posing with the New York Public Library Lions was a dream come true!
